EDUCATION
At STAR Hockey Academy, STAR student-athletes experience a one-of-a-kind school day designed to help them excel both in the classroom and on the ice. Our flexible schedule maximizes time for academics and elite training, ensuring every athlete can reach their full potential.
Throughout the year, STAR teams compete at the highest levels across Canada and the United States, gaining invaluable experience against top-tier competition. Each student-athlete is supported by a dedicated Kennedy Catholic team contact who helps them stay on track academically and prepares them for post-secondary success — whether their goals include college hockey, university studies, or future career opportunities.

12:1 Student Ratio
STAR student-athletes attend classes in the morning, and travel to the ice rink afterward. Each day, players take the bus to the training facility for their scheduled ice times. During these sessions, student-athletes work with skill development coaches in small-groups, as well as participate in full-team practices led by their team coaches. Players can expect to have all activities finished and completed by 5:30 p.m. daily.
We recognize that academic success is deeply connected to personal growth and athletic performance. That’s why our flexible academic pathways—ranging from core subjects to Honors and Advanced Placement (AP) courses—are designed to meet the unique needs of each student-athlete. Every learner is supported in balancing rigorous studies with high-performance training, empowering them to achieve excellence.
With a close-knit community of about 850 students from Grades 9 to 12, Kennedy Catholic staff is able to build meaningful, individual connections.
