STAR Player Development Camp

Group 1: 2016-2019 Birth Years

Group 2: 2013-2015 Birth Years

Led by STAR Hockey Academy coaches and staff, this camp is designed for young athletes looking to build a strong foundation and take the next step in their overall game. The camp will deliver a professional, high-energy environment focused on skill development, habits, and confidence. Players will be split into age- and skill-appropriate groups to ensure each athlete is challenged at the right level while receiving individualized attention. With a 5:1 player-to-coach ratio, each athlete will benefit from a high level of instruction, feedback, and support throughout the week.

What Players Will Develop

Skating mechanics and edge control
Puck handling, passing, shooting and goal scoring
Playmaking and developing a better understanding of the game
Habits that hold up under the demands of a competitive season

What a Typical Day Includes

2.5 hours of on-ice training Monday through Thursday, 1.25 hours on-ice Friday
On-ice: power skating, skill development and game-realistic scenarios
Off-ice: hockey-specific workouts focused on coordination, balance, and athletic development

STAR GOALIE DEVELOPMENT CAMP

August 3rd thru August 6th 2026

This four-day camp is led by STAR goalie coach Eric Williams who is also the goalie coach of the WHL's Wenatchee Wild. Coaching staff will also include Assertion Goaltending Consultants for high-level coaching throughout this camp. Includes 10 hours of on ice instruction.

What Players Will Develop

Advanced game reads
Skating progressions including detailed edge work & crease movements
Flexibility, hand eye coordination, and athletic development

What a Typical Day Includes

Two hours of on-ice training
Daily off ice training session with goalie specific focus around flexibility, hand eye coordination, and athletic development
Daily breakdown of camp video as well as pro video clips

STAR Position Specific Skills Camp: Defense

August 10th thru August 14th 2026

Led by the coaching staff from STAR Hockey Academy, this elite Defense Development Camp is designed specifically for defensemen looking to take the next step in their game through position-specific training and detail-driven development. Each day is built around the demands of the modern defenseman—focusing on skating efficiency, deception, puck handling under pressure, and the ability to make quick, confident decisions. Every session is designed to create measurable improvement through high-repetition skill work, game-realistic scenarios, video analysis, and hockey-specific off-ice training.

What Players Will Develop

Creating deception at the blue line and in transition
Puck poise and control under pressure
Effective and accurate shot
Skating edge work and mobility
Playmaking by better understand timing, spacing, and decision-making in all three zones
Compete level and confidence with the puck

STAR Postition Skills Camp:
Forward

August 10th thru August 14th 2026

Our Forward Development Camp is designed specifically for high-compete forwards ages 9–13 who want to become more dangerous, more confident, and more effective offensively heading into next season. Led by the coaching staff from STAR Hockey Academy, this camp delivers an elite development environment focused on the modern offensive player. This is not a “summer skate.” Every session is designed to create measurable improvement through high-repetition skill work, game-realistic scenarios, video analysis, and hockey-specific off-ice training.

What Players Will Develop

Goal scoring & finishing techniques
Puck control and deception under pressure
Offensive awareness & hockey IQ
Skating efficiency and explosiveness
Playmaking and decision-making in game situations
